Every cream soup has a base. It's the soup's major component, and the part that adds the most flavor.
In most cases, the base of a cream soup is a vegetable puree.
  • A vegetable puree can be as simple as vegetables boiled in a bit of water, then pureed with a blender or food processor.
  • However, to get a more complex flavor with not a whole lot more work, you can saute some aromatics like leeks, onions, shallots, garlic, etc, with a bit of butter, and then add some chicken stock and boil the vegetables in the mixture. Then puree the whole thing! It'll be a lot more flavorful.
  • You can also use vegetable stock if you're trying to make a vegetarian meal, but keep in mind that vegetable stock doesn't contain any gelatin and so doesn't really carry flavors as well as chicken stock would.
  • Some vegetables benefit from being sauteed a bit with the aromatics. Mushrooms are a good example (although not technically a vegetable, you know what I mean!). It helps bring out the flavor. Just saute them, add the stock, simmer a bit, and then puree.
  • Some vegetables – again, like mushrooms – make a great cream soup without being pureed. Whether you pureed the vegetable-stock mix is up to you, just see what you like.

For some cream soups, however, you wouldn't really want to use a vegetable puree. For example, a cream of chicken soup really only needschicken stock as a base, with maybe a few aromatics and some pieces of cooked chicken added and then pureed.

Hiro Hamada is a 14-year-old robotics genius who lives in the futuristic fictional city of San Fransokyo. Raised by his aunt and older brother Tadashi after the death of his parents, he spends his time participating in illegal robot fights. To redirect Hiro, Tadashi takes him to the robotics center at his university, where Hiro meets Tadashi's friends: GoGo, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, and Fred, as well as Baymax, the healthcare companion robot Tadashi created. To enroll in the school, Hiro signs up for the school's science fair and presents microbots: swarms of tiny robots that can link together in any arrangement imaginable. Professor Callaghan, the head of the university's robotics program, is impressed, and Hiro is accepted into the university. Alastair Krei, a businessman and president of Krei Tech, attempts to buy the microbots, but with Callaghan's advice, Hiro declines to sell them. When a fire breaks out at the university, Tadashi rushes in to rescue Callaghan and is killed in an explosion.
Several weeks later, a depressed Hiro accidentally activates Baymax, who follows Hiro's last microbot to an abandoned warehouse. There, the two discover that someone has been mass-producing Hiro's microbots, and they are attacked by a Kabuki-masked man controlling the bots. To catch the man, Hiro equips Baymax with armor and a battle chip containing various karate moves. After the masked man attacks Hiro, Baymax, GoGo, Wasabi, Honey, and Fred at the docks and chased them through the city, the six go to Fred's mansion and begin to plan to form a superhero team with Hiro creating armor and devices for his friends pertaining to their field of science. Suspecting that Krei stole the microbots and caused the explosion, they discover a secret, disused Krei Tech laboratory, which was researching teleportation technology until the disappearance of a test pilot. While detaining the masked man, they discover him to be Professor Callaghan, who started the fire as a distraction to steal Hiro's bots while leaving Tadashi to die. An enraged Hiro removes Baymax's healthcare chip (leaving only the battle chip) and orders him to kill Callaghan. Baymax almost achieves this until Honey Lemon re-installs the healthcare chip and stops him. Furious at his friend's intervention, Hiro storms off with Baymax. When Hiro tries to remove the healthcare chip again, Baymax prevents him, implying that vengeance is not what Tadashi would have wanted. This causes Hiro to break down and finally mourn Tadashi's death. To console him, Baymax plays several humorous videos of Tadashi running tests during Baymax's development and his refusal to give up despite many failures during the tests. A remorseful Hiro later apologizes to his friends, who forgive him, and the team reunites to stop Callaghan.
The group discovers that the vanished test pilot in Krei's lab was Callaghan's daughter Abigail, and that Callaghan is seeking revenge on Krei for his daughter's apparent death. Callaghan attempts to kill Krei and destroy his headquarters by sucking both into a teleportation portal with no exit. The team saves Krei and destroys the microbots, but the portal remains active and unstable. Baymax detects Abigail inside, alive but in hypersleep, and leaps into the portal with Hiro to rescue her. After finding Abigail's podship, Baymax's armor thrusters become damaged and fail, leaving them drifting through the subspace. Baymax then uses his armor's right-hand rocket fist to propel Hiro and Abigail back towards the portal opening and Baymax stays behind. Hiro and Abigail make it back safely and Callaghan is arrested. Believing that Baymax perished, Hiro is heartbroken until he discovers Baymax's healthcare chip, which contains his entire personality, clenched in the rocket fist. Hiro rebuilds Baymax and the six friends continue their exploits through the city, fulfilling Tadashi's dream of helping those in need.
During the end credits, it is shown through newspaper headlines that Hiro has been awarded a grant from the university, where a building has been dedicated to Tadashi. In apost-credits scene, Fred accidentally opens a secret door in his family mansion and finds superhero gear inside. His father, a retired superhero, arrives stating that they have a lot to talk about as they embrace each other.

As children, many of us learn about the wondrous process by which a caterpillar morphs into a butterfly. The story usually begins with a very hungry caterpillar hatching from an egg. The caterpillar, or what is more scientifically termed a larva, stuffs itself with leaves, growing plumper and longer through a series of molts in which it sheds its skin. One day, the caterpillar stops eating, hangs upside down from a twig or leaf and spins itself a silky cocoon or molts into a shiny chrysalis. Within its protective casing, the caterpillar radically transforms its body, eventually emerging as a butterfly or moth.
But what does that radical transformation entail? How does a caterpillar rearrange itself into a butterfly? What happens inside a chrysalis or cocoon?
First, the caterpillar digests itself, releasing enzymes to dissolve all of its tissues. If you were to cut open a cocoon or chrysalis at just the right time, caterpillar soup would ooze out. But the contents of the pupa are not entirely an amorphous mess. Certain highly organized groups of cells known as imaginal discs survive the digestive process. Before hatching, when a caterpillar is still developing inside its egg, it grows an imaginal disc for each of the adult body parts it will need as a mature butterfly or moth—discs for its eyes, for its wings, its legs and so on. In some species, these imaginal discs remain dormant throughout the caterpillar's life; in other species, the discs begin to take the shape of adult body parts even before the caterpillar forms a chrysalis or cocoon. Some caterpillars walk around with tiny rudimentary wings tucked inside their bodies, though you would never know it by looking at them.
Once a caterpillar has disintegrated all of its tissues except for the imaginal discs, those discs use the protein-rich soup all around them to fuel the rapid cell division required to form the wings, antennae, legs, eyes, genitals and all the other features of an adult butterfly or moth. The imaginal disc for a fruit fly's wing, for example, might begin with only 50 cells and increase to more than 50,000 cells by the end of metamorphosis. Depending on the species, certain caterpillar muscles and sections of the nervous system are largely preserved in the adult butterfly. One study even suggests that moths remember what they learned in later stages of their lives as caterpillars.

What You Need
Ingredients
Aromatics
2 tablespoons minced ginger
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Vegetables
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup fresh or frozen corn kernels, defrosted
1/2 cup fresh or frozen peas, defrosted
1/2 cup chopped scallions
For the rice
2 tablespoons grapeseed, canola, or peanut or vegetable oil
4 cups cold cooked rice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 large egg, beaten
1/4 cup toasted pine nuts, almonds, peanuts, or cashews
2 tablespoons minced cilantro (optional)
Equipment
A 14-inch flat-bottom carbon steel wok
A fish spatula or other thin, flexible spatula for stir frying
Instructions
1. Cut Up the Ingredients: The most important key to making a good stir-fry is cutting each ingredient to a uniform size as specified above. Cut the aromatics as directed and set them aside in a bowl. Finely slice, then mince, the ginger. Don't grate it on a grater. Cut the vegetables and set them aside as well.
Optional Step - Egg Pancake: There are several ways of adding egg to your finished fried rice. You can simply cook in the beaten egg at the end of cooking, or you can make an egg pancake. To do this, heat the wok and add 1 teaspoon of oil. Swirl in the oil to coat the bottom of the wok. Add a beaten egg and tilt the wok so that the egg covers the surface like a crepe. Cook the pancake about 30 seconds to a minute until it's just set. Use a metal spatula and flip the pancake and cook for 5 seconds or until set. Cut into small strips and add to fried rice near the end of cooking.
2. Prepare Your Wok Space: Set the bowls of vegetables, aromatics, rice, and soy sauce near your stove. Also, have a very small bowl of water next to the stove.
3. Heat the Wok: Turn on a stove burner, as high as it will go. Set a 14-inch wok over this high heat burner. To determine when the wok is hot enough, start flicking droplets of water from the small bowl into the pan after 30 seconds. As soon as a bead of water evaporates within 1 to 2 seconds of contact, the wok is heated and ready for stir-frying. Do not overheat the wok.
4. Pull Wok off the Heat and Add Oil, Then Stir-Fry Aromatics: Pull the wok off the heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Pick up the pan and carefully swirl it to coat the bottom and sides. (If the wok smokes wildly the moment you add the oil you've overheated the wok. Remove the wok from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. When it's cool enough to handle carefully remove the oil with paper towels, wash the wok, and start again.)
With the wok back over the heat, add the ginger and red pepper flakes and stir fry for 10 seconds or until fragrant.
5. Add the Carrots and Stir-Fry: Add the carrots and stir fry for 30 seconds, or until the carrots are bright orange.
6. Add the Corn and Peas and Stir-Fry: Add the corn and peas and stir fry for 1 minute.
7. Add 1 More Tablespoon Oil: Swirl the remaining tablespoon of oil into the wok.
8. Add the Rice and Scallions and Stir-Fry for 2 Minutes: Add the rice and scallions stir-fry for 2 minutes, breaking up the rice with the spatula until it is heated through.
9. Season the Rice: Season the rice with the salt and white pepper.
10. Add the Sauce: Pour the soy sauce around the edges of the wok and stir-fry.

11. Finish the Rice: Add the chopped egg pancake and pine nuts. Toss to combine. Alternatively, you can stir in 1 beaten egg. Stir-fry until the egg is no longer wet. Stir in the cilantro.

A farmer came across a bird with a broken wing. He picked it up, took it home and looked after it lovingly, even though his wife complained bitterly about his wasting too much time on the creature. After some time, the wing mended and, because the bird did not want the farmer to have kept on arguing with his wife all the time, it decided to go back to its nest. When the farmer discovered that he went out to look for it. Eventually, he found it again, and was greeted happily by the whole family of the bird. As a sign of their thanks for his care and attention, the birds gave him a little box, and told him not to open it until he got home. To his surprised, the farmer found the box full of precious stones. When his wife saw them, she decided that she too deserved a reward, and she went to see the birds. The birds gave her a little casket, but this one was full of devils. The devils jumped on her as soon as she opened the casket and chased her away. Left alone, the farmer went to live near his friend, the bird. There he built a hut of perfumed wood, and the birds decorated it with flowers of many kinds.

Basuki Tjahaya Purnama, better known as Ahok, will be the first ethnic Chinese to govern Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta.

Ahok is not the first ethnic Chinese to gain political prominence in Indonesia, where the Muslim-Javanese group dominates political positions. But he may be the first to break unspoken barriers of expected behaviors and norms of an ethnic Chinese participating in politics.

The outspoken and sometimes brash deputy governor will take over Jakarta’s helm when the incumbent Joko Widodo, the country’s president-elect better known as Jokowi, takes office in October.

Ahok stands out from the crowd

Ahok is a distinctive figure in Indonesian politics. This is not simply due to his “double minority” status as Chinese Indonesian and Christian but also a result of how he regards or disregards those labels.

In Indonesia, ethnic Chinese were subjected to discriminatory laws during Suharto’s dictatorship. When Suharto fell from power in 1998, they were the targets of anti-Chinese riots.

Ahok never shied away from his ethnicity. In his campaigns and when dealing with political situations, he often mentions his Chinese heritage. He has told self-deprecating jokes by referring to himself as a pork-eating infidel. When he ran for governor of Bangka Belitung, an archipelagic province off Sumatra, his campaign material had a picture of him in full Mandarin outfit.

But Ahok does not use his ethnicity to gain popular support. While some Chinese Indonesians form part of his support, his base of voters has never been built on ethnicity or identity politics.

This is different from most Chinese Indonesians who climbed the “political track”. Elected leaders of Chinese ethnicity would typically be in charge in areas with a large Chinese population such as Singkawang, West Kalimantan.

There are exceptions. The recently elected mayor of Central Java town Malang, Mochamad Anton, is Chinese Indonesian. But Anton is a Muslim. His ethnicity is diluted by his religious identity.

Anton holds the prestigious Haj title. He is also part of the local Nahdlatul Ulama chapter, Indonesia’s biggest Islamic mass organisation. His appointment has not created much buzz due to these factors.

Some Chinese Indonesians gain political prominence by being appointed as ministers or to other bureaucratic posts. In such cases, the president or regional leaders appoint them mostly for their skills, usually in the fields of economics, finance and trade.

This is where Ahok is different from other prominent Chinese Indonesians. Ahok is not a technocrat. He has held political positions in areas where Chinese Indonesians are minorities.

Ahok started his political career in a region where his ethnicity is not political capital to run for local government. He first served as a councillor in his home town Belitung Timur, a small town in the Bangka-Belitung Islands made famous by Laskar Pelangi (Rainbow Warriors) author Andrea Hirata. He became regent of Belitung Timur in 2005.

After two years as regent, Ahok ran for Bangka-Belitung governor and lost in a close race. He continued his political progress by becoming a parliamentary member representing the region.

He rose to his current position by adamantly pursuing his political ambitions. When not endorsed by his party (Golkar) to run as governor of Jakarta in 2012, he ran as an independent before Gerindra recruited him. He then ran as deputy governor with Jokowi.

Moving away from identity politics?

Does Ahok’s rise shows a shift in Indonesia’s sociopolitical atmosphere in regard to identity politics? Do Indonesian people no longer care about their leaders' ethnicity and religion?

Jakarta’s 2012 gubernatorial election and the nation’s July 2014 presidential election tell us a few things.

In both elections, Jokowi and Ahok (2012) and Jokowi (2014) had huge public support and enthusiasm behind them. And in both contests opponents used smear campaigns on religious and ethnic issues.

The smear campaign against Jokowi, who was accused of being a secret Christian of Chinese descent, almost worked. He lost his double-digit lead in opinion surveys just weeks before the election. Jokowi won, but with a close margin of 53% to 46%.

Ethnicity and religion do have traction in elections, but they are not make-or-break factors. Religious identity in general is a more significant factor than ethnic identity.

Based on the results of a March 2014 CSIS national survey, it appears that Indonesia is not ready for people from minority groups to lead the nation. When asked if they objected to having an ethnic Chinese as president or vice-president, close to two-thirds of respondents said they did. The percentage rose to 71.7% when asked if they objected to having a non-Muslim president or vice-president.

But when we replace the conceptual question with real-case scenarios the results differ. The same survey presented several presidential pair scenarios. Interestingly, pairing Jokowi and Ahok as presidential and vice-presidential candidates did not diminish Jokowi’s electability.

What do Chinese Indonesians think of Ahok?

It has often been overlooked that Chinese Indonesians are very heterogeneous socially and politically. Yet they are often treated and viewed as a monolithic group.

There are a variety of views in regard to the political participation of ethnic Chinese. Some are still cautious, traumatised by the 1998 riots. Others are quite enthusiastic about entering the political sphere.

The same varied views apply to Ahok. Some are proud and supportive of his accomplishments, while others are apprehensive. There are those who have reservations due to a fear that his brash demeanour may create a backlash against the Chinese, while a smaller minority are not supportive of him as he does not give special privileges.

Pushing Indonesia to its multicultural potential

Regardless of the changes in political dynamics nationally and among Chinese Indonesians, Ahok is pushing the nation forward.

He is breaking barriers that had defined Indonesia’s socio-political environment. He has changed the game by having voters appraise politicians on their merits instead of ethnic and religious markers.

Yet Ahok is also an Indonesian politician who is unashamedly Chinese and Christian. He carries his background with pride, not for his identity but for Indonesia’s multicultural potential.

Analysis:
1.         Below are sentences containing –ing form as verb:
  • Regardless of the changes in political dynamics nationally and among Chinese Indonesians, Ahok is pushing the nation forward.
  • He is breaking barriers that had defined Indonesia’s socio-political environment.

The sentences above contains an –ing form as verb because we find there are ‘to be+Ving’, it means that the sentence uses present progressive tense and the sentence shows an action.

2.         Below are sentences containing –ing form as adjective:
  • He has told self-deprecating jokes by referring to himself as a pork-eating infidel.

This sentence is categorized as an –ing form as an adjective because it comes before a noun and functioning to modify a noun.

3.         Below are sentences containing –ing form as noun:
  • Some Chinese Indonesians gain political prominence by being appointed as ministers or to other bureaucratic posts.
  • The smear campaign against Jokowi, who was accused of being a secret Christian of Chinese descent, almost worked.
  • Others are quite enthusiastic about entering the political sphere.

The welfare of Finnish society is built on education, culture and knowledge. The flexible education system and basic educational security make for equity and consistency in results. The Finnish education system is composed of:
  • nine-year basic education (comprehensive school) for the whole age group, preceded by one year of voluntary pre-primary education
  • upper secondary education, comprising general education and vocational education and training (vocational qualifications and further and specialist qualifications)
  • higher education, provided by universities and polytechnics
Learning pathway
In Finland, pre-primary education, basic education and upper secondary education and training, complemented by early childhood education and before- and after-school activities, form a coherent learning pathway that supports children's growth, development and well-being.

The Finnish education system has no dead-ends. Learners can always continue their studies on an upper level of education, whatever choices they make in between. The practice of recognition of prior learning has been developed in order to avoid unnecessary overlapping of studies.

Students' opportunities to progress from one level of education to the next is safeguarded by legislation. Both general and vocational upper secondary certificates provide eligibility for further studies.

Higher education is offered by universities and polytechnics. Both sectors have their own profiles. Universities emphasise scientific research and instruction. Polytechnics, also known as universities of applied sciences, adopt a more practical approach.
Adult education is provided at all levels of education. Adults can study for a general education certificate or for a vocational qualification, or modules included in them, take other courses developing citizenship and work skills, or pursue recreational studies.

Active:
1.      The flexible education system and basic educational security make for equity and consistency in results.

Active voice describes a sentence where the subject performs the action stated by the verb. The subjects of the sentence are The flexible education system and basic educational security which come before the verb make. The tense of this sentence is simple present where the form of the verb is simple form.

2.      The Finnish education system has no dead-ends.

Maybe we can say that the simple form of an active sentence is S + V + O + C. Based on that formula, the subject of the sentence is The Finnish education system, while the verb is has, and no dead-endsas the object of the sentence.

3.      Learners can always continue their studies on an upper level of education, whatever choices they make in between.

The sentence is also an active sentence because it has a subject who does an action, learners. Besides, it has can as the modal auxiliary which comes before the verb continue. For your information, modal auxiliaries are followed by the simple form of a verb.

4.      Both general and vocational upper secondary certificates provide eligibility for further studies.

This sentence uses simple present tense because it uses provide as the verb of the plural subjects Both general and vocational upper secondary certificates.

5.      Universities emphasise scientific research and instruction.

This sentence contains of subject universities, verb emphasise, and object scientific research and instruction. So, it is simply said as an active sentence.

Passive:
1.      The welfare of Finnish society is built on education, culture and knowledge.

It is a passive voice because we see the keyword is in the sentence. After the be is there is builtas the past participle verb. The subject of the sentence is The welfare of Finnish society.

2.      The practice of recognition of prior learning has been developed in order to avoid unnecessary overlapping of studies.

The sentence above is also identified as a passive voice. Just like what we read before that the form of passive voice is be + past participle. What is the be? The be is has been. Now what is the past participle? Developed is.

3.      Students' opportunities to progress from one level of education to the next is safeguarded by legislation.

Now we find a different passive voice from 2 sentences above. This sentence uses by phrase. The by phrase is included if it is important to know who performs an action. So, for this sentencelegislation is an important information to know. The keyword to define that this sentence is passive voice is the word is safeguarded.

4.      Higher education is offered by universities and polytechnics.

We can change this passive sentence to active first. The active sentence should be: Universities and polytechnics offer higher education. According to Betty Azar, the subject of an active sentence is the object of by in the “by phrase” in a passive sentence. One of another reason to say that it is a passive sentence is the existence of be + past participle, that is is offered.

5.      Adult education is provided at all levels of education.

We can recognize that this sentence is in passive voice because the keyword is is used. Moreover, there is past participle after the be, provided.

Indonesians shop online mostly to buy fashion, cosmetic and electronic products; airline tickets; and tour packages according to a new survey conducted by Visa Worldwide Indonesia. The survey indicated that Indonesian online shoppers spent US$500 per year on average on buying airline tickets and accommodation and about $194 per year on fashion products and cosmetics last year.
“No one can deny that travelling has become a need. People always need holidays in the hustle and bustle of their lives, especially in big cities like Jakarta,” said Visa president director Ellyana Fuad on Tuesday. “Similar to holidays, fashion and cosmetics have also become a need,” she added.
The survey was conducted last year on 516 respondents through an interview and group discussion held in Jakarta, Bandung, Bekasi, Depok (West Java), Tangerang (Banten), Surabaya (East Java), Semarang (Central Java), Medan (North Sumatra), Makassar (South Sulawesi) and other big cities across the archipelago.  The respondents are aged above 18 years and are actively involved in online shopping through credit and debit cards. Based on the survey, Visa estimated online shopping in the country would grow by around 40 percent this year and 53 percent next year, from 23 percent the previous year.
“We believe online shopping will grow sharply in the future because of the increasing middle class in the country,” said Ellyana.
Middle-class people require efficiency in their business transactions so they will optimize Internet connections to shop for commodities or pay bills. Due to the bright economic outlook, the Indonesian middle class will grow and their needs of online shopping will follow, Ellyana explained.  The projected sharp increase in the number of the online shoppers was supported by the country’s demographics, said Ellyana, adding that Indonesians are mostly young and active people with an average age of 28.
“The young are different than the old. Young people are really familiar with the Internet and they use it not only to contact their friends but also to shop for goods. This will grow e-commerce in the country.”
The survey showed online shoppers mostly preferred using credit cards as their payment method instead of moneytransfers and Internet banking as they can pay by instalments via credit card. The survey also said that out of 10 online shoppers, nine used personal computers and laptops when they browsed and shopped online.
“Online shoppers prefer to use these things rather than cell phones. They tend to use cell phones to share information instead of for online shopping,” said Ellyana. (alz)

When I was a little girl, I suddenly fell in love with AS Roma football team, especially with its legend, Francesco Totti. Same with it, I loved Italy with no reason. Italy is home to the greatest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world. High art and monuments are to be found everywhere around the country. Its great cities of art, like Rome, Venice and Florence are world famous and have been attracting visitors for centuries. Besides its art treasures Italy also features beautiful coasts, alpine lakes and mountains. No wonder it is often nicknamed the Bel Paese (beautiful country). For me Italy is such a romantic classic state. Come on, I will invite you to go to Italy, eventough it is just an imagination. Enjoy it!

Grand Canal, Venice.

Venice is also known as The City of Water in Italy. It becomes the first top tourists attraction in Italy with its romantic charm. If I could go to Italy, Iwould come to Grand Canal in Venice firstly. Why? Because there is gondola. Romantic gondolas, and Italian architecture along the Grand Canal helped earn this status. The Grand Canal snakes through the city of Venice in a large S shape. It is believed that the Grand Canal follows the course of an ancient river. The traditional ways in this city are connected by canals. Well, there is only water transport in Venice. So, gondola is used to travel around the canal. No trip to Venice would be complete without a punt down one of the city's picturesque waterways in an iconic gondola. Stitched together with over 150 canals that have become central to its character, Venice has decayed since its heyday and has more tourists than residents, but with its romantic charm it remains one of the top tourist attractions in Italy.

#1 of Tourist Attractions In Italy

The Colosseum, Rome.

The Colosseum in Rome is the largest and most famous amphitheater in the Roman world. Its construction was started by emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty in 72 AD and was finished by his son Titus in 80 AD. The Colosseum was capable of holding some 50,000 spectators who could enter the building through no less than 80 entrances. Spectators were protected from the rain and heat of the sun by sails called the “velarium”, that was attached around the top of the attic. Colosseum was used for Gladiator competition, like in film Gladiator. Despite being destroyed by the earthquake and many of stolen stone, Colosseum is still be the symbol of Roman glory.

Colosseum

Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pisa.

The world famous Pisa Tower was built over a period of about 177 years. Soon after the construction started in 1173 the tower began to sink due to a poorly laid foundation and was left alone for almost a century. When the construction resumed the engineers built higher floors with one side taller than the other to compensate for the tilt and the tower was finally finished in the 2nd half of the 14th century. Since 2001, the famous tower in Pisa is again open to those wishing to climb it’s 296 steps. The slope of the building is what makes it an unique identity in Italy, especially Pisa city.

Solo Per Due, Vacone.

Besides enjoying those 4 attractions, I also want to enjoy another special place. It is a restaurant which located in Vacone, it also the smallest restaurant in the world. Why is it special? Because this restaurant has only 1 table with 2 chairs which just can serve 2 guests at a time. So there are no queues, no turns, and no waiting. Its name is Solo Per Due or "Just For Two". This unique restaurant tries to spoil the customers with a very intimate atmosphere. This singular characteristic has made Solo Per Due world famous, and it has become an unmissable experience for visitors to Italy, and particularly for the romantically inclined.

Human resource management (HRM, or simply HR) is the management of an organization's workforce, or human resources. It is responsible for the attraction, selection, training, assessment, and rewarding of employees, while also overseeing organizational leadership and culture, and ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws. In circumstances where employees desire and are legally authorized to hold a collective bargaining agreement, HR will also serve as the company's primary liaison with the employees' representatives (usually a labor union).
HR is a product of the human relations movement of the early 20th century, when researchers began documenting ways of creating business value through the strategic management of the workforce. The function was initially dominated by transactional work such as payroll and benefits administration, but due to globalization, company consolidation, technological advancement, and further research, HR now focuses on strategic initiatives like mergers and acquisitions, talent management, succession planning, industrial and labor relations, and diversity and inclusion.
In startup companies, HR's duties may be performed by a handful of trained professionals or even by non-HR personnel. In larger companies, an entire functional group is typically dedicated to the discipline, with staff specializing in various HR tasks and functional leadership engaging in strategic decision making across the business. To train practitioners for the profession, institutions of higher education, professional associations, and companies themselves have created programs of study dedicated explicitly to the duties of the function. Academic and practitioner organizations likewise seek to engage and further the field of HR, as evidenced by several field-specific publications.

human resource management system (HRMS) or human resource information system (HRIS), refers to the systems and processes at the intersection between human resource management (HRM) and information technology. It merges HRM as a discipline and in particular its basic HR activities and processes with the information technology field, whereas the programming of data processing systems evolved into standardized routines and packages of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. On the whole, these ERP systems have their origin on software that integrates information from different applications into one universal database. The linkage of its financial and human resource modules through one database is the most important distinction to the individually and proprietary developed predecessors, which makes this software application both rigid and flexible.

The function of human resources (HR) departments is generally administrative and common to all organizations. Organizations may have formalized selection, evaluation, and payroll processes. Efficient and effective management of "human capital" progressed to an increasingly imperative and complex process. The HR function consists of tracking existing employee data which traditionally includes personal histories, skills, capabilities, accomplishments and salary. To reduce the manual workload of these administrative activities, organizations began to electronically automate many of these processes by introducing specialized human resource management systems. HR executives rely on internal or external IT professionals to develop and maintain an integrated HRMS. Before the client-serverarchitecture evolved in the late 1980s, many HR automation processes were relegated to mainframe computers that could handle large amounts of data transactions. In consequence of the high capital investment necessary to buy or program proprietary software, these internally developed HRMS were limited to organizations that possessed a large amount of capital. The advent of client-server, application service provider, and software as a service (SaaS) or human resource management systems enabled increasingly higher administrative control of such systems. Currently human resource management systems encompass[citation needed]:

  1. Payroll
  2. Time and attendance
  3. Performance appraisal
  4. Benefits administration
  5. HR management information system
  6. Recruiting/Learning management
  7. Performance record
  8. Employee self service
  9. Scheduling
  10. Absence management
The payroll module automates the pay process by gathering data on employee time and attendance, calculating various deductions and taxes, and generating periodic pay cheques and employee tax reports. Data is generally fed from the human resources and time keeping modules to calculate automatic deposit and manual cheque writing capabilities. This module can encompass all employee-related transactions as well as integrate with existing financial management systems.
The time and attendance module gathers standardized time and work related efforts. The most advanced modules provide broad flexibility in data collection methods, labor distribution capabilities and data analysis features. Cost analysis and efficiency metrics are the primary functions.
The benefits administration module provides a system for organizations to administer and track employee participation in benefits programs. These typically encompass insurance, compensation, profit sharing and retirement.
The HR management module is a component covering many other HR aspects from application to retirement. The system records basic demographic and address data, selection, training and development, capabilities and skills management, compensation planning records and other related activities. Leading edge systems provide the ability to "read" applications and enter relevant data to applicable database fields, notify employers and provide position management and position control. Human resource management function involves the recruitment, placement, evaluation, compensation and development of the employees of an organization. Initially, businesses used computer based information systems to:

  • produce pay checks and payroll reports;
  • maintain personnel records;
  • pursue talent management.
Online recruiting has become one of the primary methods employed by HR departments to garner potential candidates for available positions within an organization. Talent management systems typically encompass:
  • analyzing personnel usage within an organization;
  • identifying potential applicants;
  • recruiting through company-facing listings;
  • recruiting through online recruiting sites or publications that market to both recruiters and applicants.
The significant cost incurred in maintaining an organized recruitment effort, cross-posting within and across general or industry-specific job boards and maintaining a competitive exposure of availabilities has given rise to the development of a dedicated applicant training system, or 'ATS', module.
The training module provides a system for organizations to administer and track employee training and development efforts. The system, normally called a "learning management system" (LMS) if a stand alone product, allows HR to track education, qualifications and skills of the employees, as well as outlining what training courses, books, CDs, web based learning or materials are available to develop which skills. Courses can then be offered in date specific sessions, with delegates and training resources being mapped and managed within the same system. Sophisticated LMS allow managers to approve training, budgets and calendars alongside performance management and appraisal metrics.
The employee self-service module allows employees to query HR related data and perform some HR transactions over the system. Employees may query their attendance record from the system without asking the information from HR personnel. The module also lets supervisors approve O.T. requests from their subordinates through the system without overloading the task on HR department.
Many organizations have gone beyond the traditional functions and developed human resource management information systems, which support recruitment, selection, hiring, job placement, performance appraisals, employee benefit analysis, health, safety and security, while others integrate an outsourced applicant tracking system that encompasses a subset of the above.
